Constitution of the Sacco IT Professionals Association (SITPA)

The Constitution of the Sacco IT Professionals Association (SITPA) outlines the association’s structure, objectives, and operational guidelines. SITPA’s primary goal is to promote high standards of IT service delivery within the Sacco sector in Kenya. The association seeks to develop best practices, facilitate continuous professional learning, and advance the welfare of its members. It also aims to foster collaboration with other professionals and stakeholders, advocating for the inclusion and development of IT experts in the Sacco sector.
Membership is open to IT professionals working in Saccos, with eligibility determined by the executive committee. Members are required to pay a registration fee and comply with the association’s rules. Membership can be revoked due to resignation, failure to pay fees, or conduct that negatively impacts SITPA’s reputation. The constitution includes a dispute resolution mechanism, handled by a Dispute Resolution Committee, which uses alternative methods like mediation and arbitration.
SITPA is managed by a National Executive Committee (NEC), which includes key office bearers such as the Chairman, Secretary General, and Treasurer. Members of both the NEC and regional committees are elected every three years and can serve a maximum of two terms. The constitution also details procedures for general meetings, elections, and financial management, including the appointment of trustees and auditors, to ensure transparency and accountability in SITPA’s operations
