Welfare

The SITPA Members Welfare Scheme aims to support members during celebrations and hardships by creating a welfare fund managed with fairness and transparency. This updated policy sets the monthly member contribution at Ksh. 200, while also requiring each member to secure a last expense insurance plan. This addition ensures that members have further financial security, particularly in the event of loss, enhancing the overall support provided by the welfare scheme.

The scheme’s primary objectives remain mobilizing funds from members and stakeholders, providing financial and moral support during significant life events, and ensuring that the community stands together in times of need. Contributions will be used to support members during celebrations like weddings and retirements, as well as difficulties such as bereavement or hospitalization. The introduction of mandatory last expense insurance adds an extra layer of protection, ensuring that funeral costs and other final expenses are adequately covered.

The welfare scheme will continue to be managed by a trustee committee, responsible for maintaining records, approving benefits, and organizing support for affected members. The addition of last expense insurance will help alleviate financial burdens on families in times of grief, furthering SITPA’s commitment to standing by its members during difficult times. The welfare policy aims to build a stronger sense of solidarity while ensuring financial resilience for all members.
